A pendulum is a small weight, often a crystal, hung from a chain so it can swing freely. It is traditionally used for dowsing: you hold the chain still, ask a yes-or-no question, and watch the direction of the swing. Black tourmaline (schorl) is known for its striated crystals. Moonstone is a feldspar with a soft, floating glow called adularescence.
