A pendulum is a small weight, often a crystal, hung from a chain so it can swing freely. It is traditionally used for dowsing: you hold the chain still, ask a yes-or-no question, and watch the direction of the swing. Lapis lazuli is a deep-blue rock made mostly of lazurite, often flecked with golden pyrite, used as a pigment and gem since antiquity. Moonstone is a feldspar with a soft, floating glow called adularescence.
